Surname: 3 Name Tutor Date Course Women are the Key to the Success of Planned Parenthood Margaret Sanger, born in 1879, devoted her skills and knowledge to sensitize women on their roles in birth control and the best techniques to use. She was instrumental in the discussion on planned parenthood, particularly on legalizing birth controls. Margaret believed that if the number of births is controlled, then mothers will easily manage their families and protect them from poverty and disease that had become rampant in the 1900s. The quality of life is impossible to achieve if the household income is expected to support a high number of family members. The medical and education needs will become challenging to achieve, leading to low living standards. Margaret Sanger was described as a progressive era activist. She had three children, acting as a good example (Michals, p.1). By creating “The Woman Rebel” magazine in 1914, many women were reached. She built the first birth-control clinic in 1916 near Brooklyn. she provided relevant birth-control information. She fought the Comstock law that regarded birth control information as obscene and should get kept away from the public. She formed the Birth Control League that brought together workers to support her vision. She was instrumental in the research and development of contraceptive pills. Work Cited Michals, D.
