Students will collect different forms of media to compare for the purpose of creating a better understanding of mass communication. The comparison paper will include a comparison of three types, including a comparison of local and national coverage of the same topic, or story in mass media; television news and print news coverage of the same story; and a feature interview article versus a news article of similar topics. The writing should align with discussions and readings covered in COM 100, including the proper use of terms from the textbook.

Aspects of the Comparison Paper
